going to be a BIG sister!! Our second baby is due March 9! We've had a couple great ultrasounds. We'll find out if we're having a boy or girl in mid-October. We know Corinne will be a great big sister. Every time she sees a baby in person or in a picture she lets out the sweetest little happy squeal. We'll keep you posted on the baby happenings.

Corinne's birthday continued back home in Georgia with a pool party. Many of her little friends and their parents joined her at the pool for fun in the sun.

Corinne turned 1 on July 13th, 2009. She had a special "garden" birthday party at her Grandpa Ed's and Grandma Alice's home in Indianapolis. Many family and friends gathered in celebration.

Peek-A-Boo

Corinne's newest game is Peek-A-Boo! She loves seeing us all excited when she opens up her hands. Unfortunately, her favorite time to play is when she is eating when whatever is gooey on her hands gets all over her face and hair! She has her wave down perfectly and is also working on kisses and blowing kisses!

At the Pool

One of the great things about living in the South is that summer starts early. Corinne is already a pool baby. Last week we went to our neighborhood pool with a bunch of friends- the water was still freezing- but the kids didn't seem to mind at all. It's just the beginning of a nice long, hot summer at the pool!

Last weekend we took an afternoon to play at a local park. Corinne LOVED seeing all the other boys and girls! And she loved playing on the slide!

Dedicated

This past weekend our sweet baby girl was dedicated at church. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were able to share it with friends and family. Both of Corinne's grandmas and grandpas came down from Indy and her aunt and uncle. We celebrated all weekend long. You can tell from the pictures that she had so much fun! With Grammi

Corinne is nine months old

Corinne turned nine months old on April 13. She has been having so much fun- especially since the weather is so nice! We are outside a lot. She really seems to love walks with Brewster and being outside in general! As you can see, she also loves to eat! Her favorite foods so far are avocado, Cheerios, yogurt, cheese, black beans and tofu!

We had an extra special treat last weekend when one of my best friends form Indiana and her husband came down to visit. Chris and Lynnsy were actually here for the World Coffee Championships- but in-between their busy schedule, we had a lot of hang out time!

Bunny Up!

Corinne and I had an interesting visit with the Easter Bunny last weekend. Marc noticed that the Easter Bunny would be at our local Wal-greens. Corinne and I walked to the photo department and asked, along with another family, where the Easter Bunny was going to be. The photo manager then said to his side-kick "OK Joey, time to bunny-up!". Poor Joey begrudgingly went to the back and came out as the Easter Bunny. He was not a happy camper. And as you can see- Corinne was really not impressed!

KING OF DRAMA

Marc just completed directing his second Shakespeare play for third grade at Creek View! This year was "Taming of the Shrew" in partnership with Georgia Shakespeare. The students did an incredible job with their lines, use of the stage and acting ability! You would not believe how into things the kids get with Shakespeare at such a young age. Marc puts so much time and energy into the production- the students, parents and school administration love it so much! I certainly will not be surprised if one day Corinne takes the stage!

Corinne is 8 Months Old!

Corinne turned 8 months old on Friday! She is having so much fun sitting up, babbling and rolling over. She loves to people watch! She is especially fascinated by toddlers! These pictures were taken by Rowan's dad, our friend and neighbor, Ryan. We are so fortunate to have Ryan, Sarah and Rowan right across the street. As you can tell, Rowan and Rinne are already learning how to share!

Jody Picoult's newest book, 'Handle With Care', just hit #1 on the bestseller list today and I got to see her in person! My book club went to hear her speak at a local high school and she was fantastic! She was fun, energetic and inspiring. If you haven't read any of her books, we all agree that you should start with 'My Sister's Keeper' and then you'll be hooked.

Grandpa Jere

I just finished Corinne's Grandpa Jere Cards. Someday, when she is older, we can read the cards together to talk about all the things she should know about her Grandpa- I like that we will actually do things together in honor of him. Like, "Grandpa Jere was in the army. Let's find a soldier to write a letter to." Or "Grandpa Jere loved soft serve ice cream! Let's go get an ice cream cone." I know my dad would have loved to spend time getting to know Corinne- someday she will get to know her grandpa.

Our neighbors Ryan and Sarah just had their baby girl five weeks before Corinne. Rowan is a cutie- she was also born six days early and had a lot of hair. Corinne and Rowan even wear matching outfits. What's next? Sleep-overs?

One of our favorite times of day is bath time! Now Corinne is in the big girl bath. After her bath she is very alert- so it's a great time to get on Skype with Grammie and Grandpa.

We brought Corinne home on July 15th, our 8th wedding anniversary! What an anniversary gift for us! Corinne has settled nicely into her new home. We have had fun taking her for walks, going to church and trying out all her baby gear. Thank you family and friends for your encouraging emails, phone calls and visits to our home. Corinne Jere Barrett was born on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 8:52 a.m. (a week early)! She weighed 7 lbs. and 7 ounces, 20 1/4 inches tall with a full head of dark hair. How precious she is! Both Corinne and her mother are healthy and doing well. God is such an awesome creator! We praise Him for our wonderful baby girl! Thank you family and friends for all your gifts, thoughts, and prayers. We appreciate and love you all! We hope to see you soon to meet beautiful Corinne. More pictures are forthcoming. Folks, we are week away from our due date! We are thrilled! Over the past few days we have been talking and singing to Corinne. We hope she hears us!
